If you’re looking to join the National Cadet Corps, you may be wondering whether it’s possible to join without going to college first. In fact, many people join the NCC before they go to college and think it gives them an edge because they’ve had military training at a young age. If you’re not in college yet, don’t worry!

Can I start NCC after 12th?

No, you can’t. To enroll in NCC, a candidate has to be between 14.5 and 17 years of age. This means you should have completed your class 12 before joining NCC. And if you are already 19 years old, then I am afraid you cannot join NCC even if you still have not completed your education after 12th grade because it’s age cap for enrolling is 17 years only.

Is there age limit and eligibility to join NCC?

To join NCC, you need to be between 15 and 18 years of age, at least 5 feet 4 inches tall (women) or 5 feet 6 inches tall (men), a national of India and not in employment. You must have basic knowledge of English (through 10th standard).

No, NCC isn’t free of cost. You need to pay an enrollment fee and a participation fee every year. For students studying in government-run schools, fees may be waived at higher ranks. If you want to study in private institutes, you’ll have to pay applicable fees that are higher than government institutes.
