Team India\’s great batsman Virat Kohli finally scored a century with the bat. He waited 1020 days for his 70th to 71st international century. The wait was getting longer and longer but on 8 September 2022, he scored a century. Thus, this is the first century in international cricket, but this is the 71st century in international cricket with the bat of Virat.
Virat Kohli\’s last century with the bat came on 23 November 2019, when he scored a century in a pink ball Test match against Bangladesh. Along with this, Virat completed a century in 53 balls with the help of 11 fours and 4 sixes against Afghanistan in the Super 4 match of Asia Cup 2022. During this time his strike rate was 188.68 which is a big thing in itself.
Virat Kohli is the first player to score a century in T20 International cricket against Afghanistan. Before him, the highest score in T20 cricket against Afghanistan was Luke Wright who scored an unbeaten 99 runs. Along with this, now Virat Kohli has played an innings of 122 runs in 61 balls. Apart from this, he has also become the highest run-scorer for India in T20 International cricket.
