There is another story about Rakshabandhan which is related to Draupadi, wife of Pandavas and Lord Krishna. According to this legend, when the Pandavas chose Lord Krishna for the worship of Agra during the Rajasuya Yagya, King Shishupala became angry. He starts annoying Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna had promised his mother that he would forgive 100 mistakes of Shishupala. But this is the 101st mistake. So Lord Krishna kills Shishupala with his Sudarshan Chakra. At this time Lord Krishna\’s finger gets hurt, after which Draupadi tore a piece of her sari and tied it to Lord Krishna\’s finger. Since then Lord Krishna considers Draupadi as his sister. Humiliating Draupadi in the court of Hastinapur, Lord Krishna answered one of her calls and saved her.
Thus if there is a brother who promises to protect his sister in any difficult time, the sister prays that her brother is always happy and healthy. These two stories find mention in Hindu mythology.
